Course of doping control
Doping control ("DC") may be performed during the competition or at any time out the competition. (Substances from group S6. Stimulants, S7. Narcotics, S8. Cannabinoids and S9. Glucocorticosteroids - see below) are not monitored during out - of - competition collection - they are not prohibited.
Whoever is selected for control is notified by the DCO, who is also authorized to conduct a doping control. The analysis of doping control samples is performed by specialized laboratories accredited by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), one of them was also in Prague until 2011. The athlete is informed about the result of the doping control. If the urine or blood sample A is positive, the athlete may request a control analysis of sample B, which may be attended. If not requested, the result of the analysis of sample A is already considered final. In case of a positive result of DC, the athlete's activity is suspended and disciplinary processing will be initiated.
General procedure for doping control (sampling) during the competition:
- the selected athlete is invited to DC by the DCO or his assistant,
- the athlete confirms the receipt to the invitation by signing the challenge form,
- the athlete must arrive immediately at the place for DC. In the case of a continuation of the competition, may be granted in agreement with the DCO (this fact is recorded in the challenge form of the DC),
- After arrival at the DCO will check the identity of the athlete (must have your Identity card, for example. license, driving license, I.D.)
- the athlete may be accompanied by a single person or an interpreter during the doping control,
- athlete choose a collection vessel and submits a urine sample (min. 90 ml) under the supervision of a doping commissioner of the same gender, attention - it may take several minutes, but also hours without the possibility of leaving the DC room,
- athlete choose a sealed collection set, which contains 2 bottles with numerical codes
- the sample is divided into two parts (samples A and B) and sealed (according to the type of kit - by sealing the lid or seals),
- of the rest of the urine, the DCO will test the urine density, which must meet the WADA limit. If the value is lower than the WADA limit, the Athlete must provide another urine sample,
- during the doping control, a protocol is filled in in which the athlete states the required data: identification data, bottle codes, medications he / she takes (in the current protocol up to 7 days back) and nutritional supplements,
- the data in the protocol are finally confirmed by the signatures of the DCO (or escort) and the athlete.
