Czech Charter against Doping
In Prague 1st January 2018
Czech Antidoping committee
- Aware of the need to contribute to the clean-up of sport from the use of prohibited substances and methods of increasing performance contrary to the moral and ethical principles of sporting and fair play,
- Aware of the adverse effects of doping on the health of athletes,
- the effective implementation of the World Anti-Doping Code and the standards issued by the World Anti-Doping Agency WADA and the Guidelines for the control and sanction doping in sports in the Czech Republic issued by CADC,
- swith regard to the Czech Republic's international commitments in the fight against doping in sport, in particular the UNESCO International Convention against Doping in Sport and the Council of Europe Anti-Doping Convention,
- with special emphasis on the personal responsibility of athletes, coaches, athletes and accompanied by other officials, as well as sports entities for Elimination of Doping in Sport
- and due to this obligation to establish, implement and secure anti-doping program in the field of conceptual, control and by public awareness and education following the Czech Charter against Doping dated December 2, 1993
- accepts this charter against doping and invites all athletes and other individuals and legal persons involved in the preparation of athletes to join the Charter.
We are committed to:
- we will work together to combat doping in sport by all means in order to create a clean environment for those athletes who play sports without using prohibited means and methods,
- We acknowledge and consider that the Athlete is primarily responsible for doping and that coaches, accompanying athletes and other officials will participate in the prevention of doping in proper education and training in this area with the contribution of the Anti-Doping Committee of the Czech Republic and all available teaching materials,
- we will adhere to ethical rules when using treatment methods and medicinal products,
- We acknowledge and consider that, in order to combat doping in sport effectively, the control of the abuse of doping agents and methods has an irreplaceable role to play in the anti-doping program, which must be objective, consistent and systematic,
- We acknowledge and consider that doping control and punishment of the guilty shall be governed by the rules of the World Anti-Doping Code and the standards issued by the World Anti-Doping Agency WADA and other regulations of the International Olympic Committee, the International Paralympic Committee and international sports federations,
- We acknowledge and consider that the World Anti-Doping Agency publishes a regularly updated list of Prohibited Substances and Methods, which is an integral part of the regulations governing the control and sanction of doping in sport,
- we will anchor in our rules and regulations the prohibition of doping and the obligation of athletes to submit to doping control in accordance with valid and effective anti-doping regulations, and we will ensure that athletes are familiar with their rights and obligations in general,
- All athletes' doping suspicions will be properly investigated and any culprits will be punished in accordance with applicable anti-doping regulations
- We will cooperate with all entities engaged in doping control in the detection of doping practices anywhere in the world,
- we acknowledge and consider that in the Czech Republic the Anti-Doping Committee of the Czech Republic is entrusted with the performance of tasks in the fight against doping in sport,
- and we will follow the Guidelines for the control and punishment of doping in sport in the Czech Republic and the World Anti-Doping Code.
This amended Charter does not need to be re-signed in the event of an earlier accession to the Czech Anti-Doping Charter of 2 December 1993. The previously expressed join to the Czech Anti-Doping Charter is also considered valid for this version of the Charter under the current wording of the binding international anti-doping regulations.
